Recovery took me at my worst, scared, alone, and hopeless.
Someone who hated themselves and couldn't see a way out. Someone chained to the same location day after day, a dealers house, or my parents bedroom.
Recovery took that person, and gave them hope. Made me work on myself, face my demons, laugh at my fear, and find new faith in myself and others.
Recovery opened my mind to what was possible when done together, and opened my eyes to the world around me.
It gave me something I'd always longed for, somewhere I belong, and having that made it easier to dream of places I'd never seen.
